WINC Angel Investment Networking Group

Studies and research have shown the continued disparity between women owned businesses and male owned businesses.  The Spring 2009 Report from the National Women’s Business Council, lack of “Access to Capital” is the number one reason women business owners are not growing at the same rate as men business owners.

In January 2001, Greene, Brush, Hart, and Saparito completed a study called ‘Patterns of Venture Capital Funding: Is gender a factor?’  In their research, they documented the first evidence showing participation of women entrepreneurs in the venture capital arena.  Between 1997 and 2000, (the boom years for venture investing in the United States), only “5% of VC dollars went to women-owned businesses.”  Recent studies have shown no evidence to suggest this percentage has changed in any way.

Through our work in developing Entrepreneur Expose’, WINC is adding to the Women’s Initiative outreach by creating the WINC Angel Investment Networking Group.  Hosted by Sobel Accounting Firm in Livingston, New Jersey, we are actively seeking potential Angel Investors who are interested in investing in women owned businesses and women entrepreneurs who are seeking investment funding.   The WINC Angel Investment Networking Group is a woman-friendly investor group that provides early stage and growth capital across all sectors to women entrepreneurs.

Submit Your Business Plan for Angel Investment Review. Our companies have a woman CEO who owns equity in the company, or, if she is not the CEO, then she is a Founder and CXO (i.e., a COO, CAO, CTO etc). We are not sector specific as our investors are interested in building diversified portfolios across various industries.

Join the WINC Angel Investment Networking Group-  We focus on women-owned, women-led companies because we believe those census numbers indicate just the beginning of the untapped economic capability of female entrepreneurs.
